Floral decor

The first one is characterized by floral prints, lightness and "blur" of color. For curtains, you can make hooks from nylon, organza in the color of the curtains. Artificial flowers are perfect for curtains.

Multi-colored curtains perfectly complement the kitchen interior

Bright windows of the nursery

A riot of colors triumphs in the nursery. Additional curtain decor may be superfluous here. However, when ordering curtains, you can additionally order unusual lambrequins. If you want to make curtains "for growth", preferring simple shapes, consider the following options:

  • Filament curtains. You can buy them ready-made, but it's more interesting to do it yourself - then you will choose the color and texture you want.
  • Pickups toys. Lovely animals, sewn or tied with their own hands, gently hug the curtain, not letting it close the window. A button is sewn to one foot, a loop is made on the other.

Additional fabric can be used to decorate curtains by hanging it as in the photo

Such curtains will decorate the interior of the room.

Tiebacks for curtains

Various hooks will decorate the window:

  • fabric;
  • from a cord with tassels;
  • magnetic - in the form of a brooch, hairpins;
  • in the form of several strands of beads of various diameters.

Hinged mount

The striving for simplicity allows the complete absence of decorative elements on the curtains, but sometimes you want to add some variety to the interior, "dilute" the strict lines. In this case, you can secure the curtains with hinges made of the same fabric as the curtains, or a companion fabric. Loops at the same distance are attached to the curtain and put on a round cornice.

You can fix the loops on the curtain in various ways:

  • with Velcro;
  • with buttons (including decorative ones);
  • sewing loops directly to the curtain.

It is not necessary to hang curtains of the same color, they can be combined

For curtains you can make such garters.

Combining

Combined curtains will revive the room in minimalism styles, vintage combined curtains. The curtains of two companion fabrics will harmoniously fit into the interior: checkered and one-colored. Their ratio should be approximately 1: 4.

Curtains on eyelets

The cut off upper part (it is possible from the companion fabric) must first be sealed with non-woven fabric, eyelet tape or other materials. Then holes are punched at an equal distance - along the diameter of the cornice - and the eyelets are installed. They can be purchased in hardware stores or outdoor advertising companies - similar ones are installed on street banners.

Fashion trends in window decoration

Striving for simplicity and convenience dictates its own rules for decorating windows. Dyed fabrics, dense, natural materials - linen, cotton, silk, organza are in fashion. The preference of the year is flax and bamboo.

In general, the natural style dominates in interior design and window decoration. Hence the color preferences: close to natural or cold tones:

  • blue;
  • gray;
  • walnut;
  • green;
  • blue-green;
  • brown;
  • yellow brown.

Preference is given to plain materials, and the type of curtains is single-layer. If double curtains are used - tulle or organza in color should be as close as possible to the color of the wallpaper, or slightly brighter. Variants are acceptable when only thin, transparent organza curtains are used. The length of the curtains is made to the floor, even better - with a slight approach to the floor.

The correct choice of curtains, the original design of the windows will make the interior complete, and the decor of the curtains with your own hands will bring comfort to the room, create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation.

The window ... how wonderful it is to look into it in the early morning at sunrise or late in the evening at the dying lights and the mysterious night sky! And how unpleasant it is to observe bare window openings, "not dressed" in beautiful curtains, which will harmoniously merge with the interior of a cozy room.

The modern design of curtains allows you to decorate any room: to give a touch of solemnity to the hall, glamor to the bedroom, add truly home comfort to the kitchen and the respectability of the living room. You just need to take a closer look at the works of the best designers and take into account a couple of nuances, and your house will acquire a special charm and attractiveness.

Undoubtedly, when choosing curtains, it is necessary to REMEMBER ABOUT THE INTERIOR STYLE prevailing in the rooms, the colors of the premises, but one should not forget about the functional loads performed by the curtains in certain rooms.

Practical and beautiful design of curtains for the kitchen

Let's start with the kitchen - a kind of symbol of the modern home. Curtain design is important here too. Windows, covered with ordinary blinds, in most cases look very dry, and such restraint is not suitable for every kitchen. At the same time, curvy folds and folds of hanging fabric are also inappropriate in the kitchen area. The most acceptable design is curtains of light shades from a monochromatic material that transmits light well.

Light translucent curtains without unnecessary decorative details and complex shapes are almost an ideal solution for kitchens of different stylistic orientations. Such models are especially relevant for small rooms.

So, curtains for the kitchen should be functional, practical, wash well and be resistant to sunlight, temperature changes. Modern designers offer the most practical and effective options:

  • Tulle.
  • Curtains.

Jalousie

Although this type does not look attractive enough compared to the other types of curtains listed, some housewives still prefer the blinds. In order to get rid of the feeling of an office environment, you just need to purchase blinds made of different materials or painted in different colors. Photo blinds are becoming even more attractive ... An image of evening Paris or landscapes of cozy streets with entwined greenery, why not ?!

Blinds made of thin wooden plates are suitable for a country-style kitchenquite attractive on window frames. Another natural material, bamboo, used to make blinds, can organically fit into the kitchen, the interior of which is made in Japanese style.

Roman curtains

It is not known for certain whether the Romans really became the inventors of the structure from thin slats and fabric. Curtains of the same name have recently been very popular due to their simplicity and convenience.

A clean-lined fabric that can be folded with a simple mechanism is almost universal and fits all kitchen styles. Despite the unpretentiousness of the forms, quite a variety of materials used for the curtain canvas allow you to choose an original solution for small and large kitchens.

  • Natural cotton.
  • Exotic jute material.
  • Coarse and fine flax.
  • Bamboo material.

Roman blinds created from natural materials will fit perfectly into hi-tech and retro rooms. Additional decorations in the form of fringes and patterns add an even more expressive look, drawing the eye towards the neatly framed window.

Roller blinds in the interior of the kitchen

Such curtains do not differ in special design delights. In most cases, roller-type curtains are plain or decorated with pictures and photo prints. But this does not detract from their merits, they perfectly protect the kitchen from the prying eyes of passers-by, prevent the penetration of sunlight and are quite easy to clean.

When purchasing roller blinds, it is necessary to take into account the size of the window frames, a bobble by a couple of centimeters will harm the appearance of the window as a whole.

If you are looking for curtains for a kitchen with a balcony, the listed types of "curtains" will come in handy. Convenience, laconism, ease of care, plus a variety of models will give the premises the necessary accent.

Curtains

Whatever interior prevails in the house, curtains can be found in many rooms, and not only of the classical type. An excellent solution would be curtain panels, which, when used correctly, help to visually expand the space of a small kitchenette and create an interesting visual effect. The combination of narrow curtains in contrasting colors with the same texture sometimes creates a unique atmosphere.

Luxurious curtains of flowing silk, luxurious velvet, unique brocade and light muslin are the lot of the living room and bedroom!

Go to the living room!

It is in the living room that pleasant evenings are held with the family, celebrations with long-awaited guests, who will certainly pay attention to the chic curtains.

The choice of curtains for the living room is so diverse that sometimes the simple task of acquiring a "dress" for windows becomes very difficult. Using various models of curtains and tulle, you can favorably emphasize the advantages of a room, focus on the style of the interior and, finally, simply create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Several rather wide strips of translucent airy fabric of different shades, not completely hiding the beautiful landscape outside the window and especially not attracting attention, filling the whole room with light.

Denser curtains with ordinary straight canvases, thanks to the interesting texture or color of the fabric, will also look good, but quite simply against the background of whole compositions of fabrics of different colors and quality, decorated with decorative elements.

Beautiful drapery, horizontal and vertical elements, lambrequins, weightless organza and noble velvet, weaving of various shades and textures of fabrics are found in a diverse range of curtains for the living room. It is impossible to list a huge number of models of curtains created by talented designers, but it is quite possible to single out the main types of curtains widely used in living rooms.

  • Classic.
  • English.
  • Austrian.
  • French.
  • Roman.
  • Rolled.
  • Japanese.

Roman and roller blinds

Roman and roller blinds, proposed above as a universal option for the kitchen, are also successfully used in living rooms, only the type of fabric used and the size of the canvases differ.

These curtains will be a lifeline in a small living room. Laconic canvases tightly located to the window frame will not take up precious centimeters. Roller blinds and roman blinds will organically fit into the interiors of living rooms, decorated in modern and minimalist style.

Japanese curtains

And since we are talking about minimalism, Japanese curtains come to the fore. A whole system of screens, fixed on a multi-row cornice, allows the fabric canvases to move parallel to each other. Curtains that do not have folds can serve as a real art object, attracting the attention of guests due to the large pattern on the canvases.

Classic curtain design

The classic curtains include long, wide canvases that fall to the floor. The fabric, intercepted by beautiful hooks, forms chic folds, giving the curtains a more sophisticated look.

English curtains

English curtains can be either an independent element that decorates the window, or act as an alternative to the usual tulle. They can be distinguished by the rounded folds of the lower part of the translucent fabric.

Austrian curtains

Austrian curtains look great as an independent decorative element, although not against the company of curtains. The lower part resembles English curtains, but the Austrian curtains are lifted with a slight movement, demonstrating lush rounded scallops. When assembled, Austrian curtains look spectacular, showing luxurious folds. They are appropriate in rooms tending to baroque, art deco and, of course, classics.

French style curtain design

Unknowingly, French curtains can be confused with Austrian ones and vice versa. In fact, there are many differences, French ones are sewn from expensive thin fabrics, in the unfolded state they are a lot of scallops, collected in the same folds along the entire length of the canvas. Curtains look equally impressive both when folded and unfolded. Luxurious curtains of interesting shape, lambrequin will be an excellent addition to French curtains and will complete the image of the living room, filling it with exquisite luxury of a classic interior.

Bedroom curtains should be comfortable

Luxurious materials, spectacular curtain models, appropriate in the living room, are unlikely to be suitable for the bedroom. A serene atmosphere, comfort and coziness - this is what a person should feel when entering his bedroom! The textiles used in this room make a huge difference. Correctly selected curtains, echoing the decoration of the bed, small pillows and other decorative elements, create a unique feeling of warmth.

Bright, catchy colors do not contribute to calming, provoking the brain to be active, which is why it is preferable to use muted bed tones for the bedroom. Weightless translucent curtains are also not used for the bedroom, they are unlikely to protect from the bright rays of the sun and cold moonlight. A more acceptable option is dense curtains in combination with weightless tulle.

For lovers of elegance, classic models of curtains, complemented by lambrequins, beautiful tassels and tacks, are more suitable. Fans of minimalism will love Japanese, Roman or roller blinds, the clear shapes of which can be softened with a thin translucent tulle.

The choice of curtains in the bedroom is due to its stylistic orientation, and the colors of the interior, as well as the selection of curtains and curtains for any room in a house or apartment. Fashion trends are another important selection criterion. But you should not buy curtains, guided only by fashionable trends, since it is textiles that give the room a special charm, emphasizing the style of the interior and conveying the general idea of \u200b\u200b\\ u200b \\ u200bthe room.

And since the conversation turned to fashion, then a description of several new products proposed by leading designers will be just the way.

In 2017, muted shades of a neutral scale - beige, sand, cream and gray - do not give up their positions and still occupy leading positions in the design of not only curtains, but also other interior elements.

It is impossible to call them a novelty, as well as the combination of black and white in graphic drawings on the canvases of curtains and curtains, but nevertheless, the models do not go out of fashion, gradually turning into the category of classics.

New trends suggest brighter colors of paintings, at the peak of fame blue in all its variety of shades, cheerful turquoise and unforgettable heavenly. The blue color has a beneficial effect on the human psyche, but it has its own characteristics that must be taken into account when using it in the interior.

All shades of green, lilac-violet gamut, eggplant, brick saturated with brownish tones - this is not a complete list of bright colors that have entered the struggle for the place of the most fashionable color for curtains in the current season.

Having found out the basic palette used in the design of curtains, it will be useful to recall the patterns on the fabric. Large images and patterns are still in vogue, an interesting novelty is some blurring of the picture, reminiscent of watercolors washed out by water.

Having decided on the color of the curtains, you need to pay attention to their shape and general appearance. Minimalism in design is not a favorite of the season, therefore, multi-layer curtain designs, interesting with a combination of different textures and colors, are welcome. The contrast of fabrics, the extraordinary design of the top of the canvas, radial folds or "glasses", decorative lining, the effect of volume and the abundance of folds will certainly give any window a refined and elegant look.

More and more often, designers offer innovative ideas and the current season is no exception, the trend of draping thick fabrics with translucent light materials is becoming very popular.

French curtains are classics of the genre. They are perfect for any interior, living room or bedroom.

Huge selection of ready-made French curtains with different interpretations. But it is always interesting to do something with your own hands, to contribute to the design of the room.

In this article we will tell you where to start sewing curtains and how to make real French curtains correctly.

Choosing a fabric

The most difficult thing is to choose a fabric from such a wide variety. The main thing in French curtains for weaving was fed to the drapery. It can be a dense fabric, airy, light, here it is already matched to the style of the room.

Each fabric has its own properties, they must be taken into account when sewing French curtains:

  • Cascading waves can be made with high density fabric;
  • Lush folds are made with a lightweight fabric;
  • If French curtains are intended for the kitchen, then a light translucent fabric will be appropriate here;
  • Fabrics with patterns for this type of curtain must be selected carefully, do not forget that folds will be made, where the pattern can be lost;
  • A fabric with a bright color will create a special atmosphere, if the curtains are plain, then diluted with a light pattern, not flashy.

Many people prefer the classics. As a rule, fabric for French curtains is chosen from satin, silk or tulle. The standard choice with which you can definitely not go wrong.

We take measurements for sewing curtains

If you have decided on the view, then now you have to measure the window and cornice in order to know how many meters of fabric are needed.

Do not forget that a sufficient amount of fabric is spent on the drapery (coefficient 1.8 for the width of the fabric), take this into account.

Measure the curtain rod initially and add another 5 centimeters to this calculation for the seams. Use the remaining material for assembly.

The resulting length of the curtain is doubled and to this amount add another 3 centimeters at the top and 5 at the bottom for the seams. Thus, we have obtained a complete calculation of the required fabric for the future creation of French curtains.

Detailed sewing diagram - pattern

Without a pattern, the technology of sewing curtains will be difficult to understand. One calculation is not enough. Therefore, you need to follow the drawing and certain actions.

And so let's figure out how to sew curtains for Frenchies with our own hands.

  • To get a truly design creation without a visible self-efficiency, we follow the following rules:
  • We do decatting. What will many ask? Decatting your image processing of fabric so that the curtains do not shrink in the future. Before sewing, soak the fabric in warm water and leave for 15 minutes, then squeeze out well and let dry.
  • We start processing from below and above. Unfold the fabric and fold the fabric 1.5 cm on all sides, secure and hem.
  • Important! The bottom is folded 2 cm.
  • We take notes for the wings using a regular ruler, make sure the intervals are equal. Drawstrings are made from pieces of fabric. For an example of a sketch, see the photo of French curtains.
  • Sew the fabric along the marked line, the width of the fabric should be 3 cm, the hem is made to the inside from the side.
  • Do not forget that the curtain is adjusted with a cord to the top, which must be threaded inside the curtains.

Thus, curtains are formed that will further decorate your room, and the work done with your own hands will cause pride and respect for your family.

French curtains in the interior can be made in different styles: baroque, empire. It all depends on the design of the room and your wishes.
