How to make a homemade lamp. DIY chandelier - manufacturing instructions and a master class on creating designer models. Homemade lighting ideas by location

Lamp - the item is extremely practical, because, unlike a bulky chandelier, it is very compact and can be placed anywhere, even on the floor. In the process of creating an interior, it is quite often forgotten, since it plays a secondary role. However, in the setting of a small-sized apartment or room, it will be almost irreplaceable, and will also help add comfort and warmth to the room. You can find a lamp for every taste in modern lighting equipment stores, but isn't it more interesting to create it with your own hands? In this article, we will tell you how to make a beautiful and unusual lamp using completely ordinary materials that are found in every home.

1. Garland lamp

To create such a lamp, you will need a base of wire, fishing line, paper or plastic bottles, as well as patience, patience, and again patience.

From the wire, you need to create a frame of the required shape, and cut out circles or figures from paper or bottles. Then you either simply attach them to the wire itself with glue, or string them on a fishing line. The thinner the line will be, the more weightless your design will turn out, so that from a distance it will seem that your butterflies are "fluttering" by themselves.

2. Lamp made of beads

To create such a product, you will need wire, as well as, if desired, fabric. In a simpler version, you simply string colorful beads onto a wire and bend it in a chaotic manner. Then an ordinary light bulb is fixed in the center.

If your soul wants something softer, with an oriental flavor, you can create unusual fabric shades decorated with beads. To do this, old CDs will come in handy, to which you will attach both fabric and beads, strung on the same wire. - an irreplaceable element, stock up on it in excess!

The fabric should be translucent: organza or tulle will do. It is sewn from one edge and secured only from the top. Then you can string a wire with beads on it. Please note that it is better to choose transparent or "chameleon" beads, otherwise they will look too gloomy when the light is on. Instead of a light bulb, you can put a flickering Christmas garland inside the lamp: this way you create a festive atmosphere in the room.

3. Cloud light

An incredibly cute and gentle option that will suit both children and adults. It may seem that it is quite difficult to execute, but this is not at all the case.

To create it, you only need a paper "Japanese" flashlight, cotton wool and a lot of glue. A large amount of cotton wool is glued to the flashlight to make a lush ball. Additionally, it can be decorated with pendants in the form of stars, a crescent moon or raindrops. That, in fact, is all.

It's better if the cloud sticks to a thin line, - this way you will create the effect of weightlessness in the room. This is a great idea for a theme party, so grab some cotton and go!

4. Lamp-lock

A similar solution is suitable for those who, as a child, loved to cut pictures from magazines. A surprisingly simple lamp that will create a mysterious, almost mystical atmosphere in the room.

You will need to find a photo (or print a picture) of an ancient castle, carefully cut it out and roll it into a kind of tube. Then you fix the structure with tape, and put a small light bulb inside. On dark evenings, your castle will be illuminated from the inside, and mysterious shadows will flicker against its background ... well, how can you not tell a terrible tale? Also in the castle, you can cut "windows" through which the light will pour out.

5. A lamp made of old things

Old dishes, pieces of furniture and even old, shabby lamps are in every home. It's good that you didn't throw them away, because now they will function again, you just need to decide on the style. In some cases, you don't even have to decorate anything, you just need to place the lamp (or what is left of it) in a suitable environment.

Most often, the matter is limited to a drill or glue with a dead "grip". Such lamps can be located in any part of the apartment, the main thing is only to observe the general compatibility.

And a few tips in the end:

1. Use only energy-saving bulbs in your lamps! You don't want to see flames ni in the place where your beautiful creation was just now?

2. Make sure that the material of your choice does not obscure the light - after all, first of all, the lamp should illuminate and only then decorate the room.

3. Do not be afraid to experiment, you will succeed! Who knows if a designer-decorator is sleeping in you? It's time to wake him up!

There are no lamps in electrical stores - manufacturers go to all sorts of tricks so that each buyer finds exactly what suits him both in design and in his pocket. But a self-made sconce is still the most original functional decoration of the house.

Electricity and creativity

Electrical appliances require during the production, installation and operation of compliance with all the rules that are prescribed by law, safety standards and the laws of physics. Therefore, if there is no special knowledge and skills in working with electrical appliances, then it is best for creativity to use the base from the old sconce, at least its electrical filling. Assembling a wall lamp, as they say, from scratch is possible only for those who understand the materials and tools for collecting such equipment, knows the physics section called "electricity", knows how to assemble electrical circuits that meet the requirements for household lighting devices. If all knowledge about this sphere of life is reduced to a successfully forgotten course in physics of the school curriculum, then you should not risk it. It is better to use the wall lamp that has been asking for the trash for several years. Different types of creativity and craftsmanship allow you to create a sconce with your own hands. Photos of similar works are presented on this page. Therefore, the question of how to make a sconce with your own hands does not require a complicated answer, you just need to turn on your imagination.

The plafond for the sconce is the essence of the lamp

Wall sconces perform an interesting functional task - lighting a small area of \u200b\u200bthe room. They are located on the wall, and most often the light from the sconce falls down, slightly scattering along the sides. That is why wall lamps are popular for creating coziness in the bedroom, in the kitchen above the table at which the whole family gathers, near a seating area with an armchair or sofa. Such a local lighting device can have any design in any style - from eco-style to high-tech. Only the interior of the room decides what the sconce will be. Therefore, a variety of materials can be used for man-made wall lighting. The only condition is that they must be resistant to a sufficiently high temperature of the light bulb in operation. Although thanks to modern LED lighting devices, this question disappears in itself - the LED bulb during operation heats up to 64 degrees in the lower part, where the necessary lamp elements are located. The flask itself heats up to approximately 33-34 degrees, i.e. you can safely hold it in your hands. That is why LED lamps allow you to use almost any material for the shade. Having decided to make a sconce with your own hands, you can refer to the materials in available sources or printed publications to choose the appropriate option for your creativity.

Threads and weaving - a suitable basis for creativity

Different types of weaving from threads: macrame, tatting, knitting, crocheting, on a fork - are actively used by needlewomen to decorate the interior of their home. Creating a lace bra with your own hands for a craftswoman is not a problem, you just need to find a suitable scheme or develop it yourself. When preparing for work, you should first think over the basis of the plafond. Will the lace be stretched or will it hang down, what is the shape of the shade and how to put the lace over it: observing the pattern, or it will be abstract, or undemanding to a clear correspondence of each rapport. Lace will look very elegant on a classic-shaped round plafond. And for a non-trivial solution of a sconce lamp with your own hands, lace may be appropriate. For example, for high-tech style, you can use lurex or metallized threads. But even those who do not know how to knit will make a lace bra with their own hands using ready-made lace. Measure the area of \u200b\u200bthe frame for the plafond and buy the required amount of the material you like with a margin for any shortcomings or unforeseen circumstances in the work - and an interesting, unusual lamp will decorate the room. In general, beautiful lamps are always made from threads. Even the chaos created from textiles can be presented in an unusual way, for example, by winding threads on a balloon, having previously coated them with PVA glue. When the threads are dry, the ball must be carefully blown away by piercing it with a needle. The resulting spider web is used as a shade for a lamp.

Wood and light

Wooden objects look very original in any interior. Natural wood is beautiful - with its own pattern, shades and color transitions. Using the natural curves of the branches, you can get interesting objects and their details. How to make wood sconces with your own hands? Several options can be used. For example, you can take special blanks that are sold in stores for creativity. They are assembled or glued together, forming a shade for the lamp. You can try to make an unusual sconce from the most common twigs collected during a walk in the park. Rinse small, 1.5-2.5 centimeters long twigs, clean them from dirt, dry. Then inflate an ordinary balloon and stick branches on it in a chaotic manner, using glue that does not destroy the rubber of the balloon, for example, construction PVA. When the twigs grip well, the ball needs to be pierced with a needle, it will deflate and lag behind the resulting ball of twigs. The plafond, if necessary, is covered with furniture varnish. The only thing is that you will need to prepare the base on which the ceiling of the resulting diameter is attached. You can also make a lamp on the wall with your own hands from unusual wooden parts. For example, taking apart wooden clothespins for parts. They are assembled together so that they form a circle, gluing to the base and to each other. Each half of the clothespin has an interesting shape with grooves that are just perfect for a jute cord or decorative braid, chain, or any other material that is most appropriate for a particular interior solution. You can also use colored pencils - creating a chaotic lamp-ball or gluing them into a slender circle or semicircle to form a shade.

DIY sconce from dishes?

Craftsmen can think of everything to create something interesting. For example, they use disposable plastic dishes - waste penny material - to create interior items, including sconces, with their own hands. Plastic spoons, cutting off their cuttings, are collected in the shape of a flower, gluing them together in circles and in rows. Disposable forks, also without shanks, are assembled, like a constructor, with the help of teeth in a sphere for a shade. The plates are bent, getting two semicircles, and also fastened together. This is an interesting DIY sconce solution, which is actively used in decorative arts.

And you can not throw it away!

Fancy wall lights are obtained from canned food cans. Banks themselves already represent a rigid form that will easily fit a shade. You just need to decorate it. You can do it like this - draw a drawing on the bank like a spot painting and use a nail and a hammer to punch holes according to the pattern. So that the jar does not wrinkle when they work with a hammer on it, you need to put a wooden chock inside it. The drawing must be built neatly, and the distance between the holes must be the same. When the drawing is completed, the jar needs to be painted.

An unusual do-it-yourself sconce is obtained from ordinary plastic bottles. They come in different colors, can be easily cut with scissors and melted with a candle. Figures (flowers, butterflies, ribbons) are cut out of plastic, melted, shaping them, and then using glue they are attached to a base from the same bottle or to an old glass shade. By the way, a glass shade that has lost its appearance can be decorated in any way and give it a second life.

DIY "delicious" sconces

A lot of interesting things can be thought up using natural materials. For example, pumpkin. Yes, you can create magic yourself, without a fairy wand, if you only want to do something with your own hands. And the pumpkin just asks for a desktop. There are pumpkin varieties that you can only eat, and there are those that are not very suitable for a tasty dish, but the hard shell serves as a unique creative material, for example, to create a lamp-sconce with your own hands. The pumpkin is prepared for processing, and then pictures or a mandala drawing are cut out of it, whatever you want. Such a plafond for a wall lamp will not only decorate your home for Halloween, but will give you a smile on any other day.

As easy as pie

The simplest sconce lamp can be made from a regular box, for example, juice or milk. It is good when from the inside such packaging is covered with a layer of metallized foil, which is the best fit for creating a lamp. From such a box, an original sconce will turn out if you cut out the walls in it and tighten them, say, with parchment paper or lace fabric, or make story pictures on the walls of the box. Such a lamp is suitable for a child's room, because a baby can come up with a picture, and parents will help to cut it. Joint creativity will make the room more comfortable and the family more friendly.

If there is a desire to do needlework, decorating your world, then there will always be materials for creativity, and interesting solutions. You just need to want to create beauty with your own hands. Good luck!

There is no doubt that the right kitchen lighting sets the tone for the entire interior. A chandelier can become a central element in this cozy and warm room.

Using materials at hand - or even junk - you can make a lampshade from threads, an eco-style lamp from jute twine or plastic bottles, or you can make a real masterpiece - a beautiful chandelier made of wood or glass beads.

And also a lamp made with your own hands can not only be hung in the kitchen or in the dining area, but also presented to loved ones.

Method 1. From scrap materials - everyone can!

The simplest DIY lamp is made of threads. Indeed, even a child can handle such a design. So, to make a thread chandelier, we need:

  • Threads - you can take ordinary jute twine or thick cotton threads, with a total length of at least 100 meters, the color is chosen based on your imagination and the existing interior;
  • PVA glue and a brush for applying it;
  • Petrolatum;
  • 2 balloons - one for work, the other for testing; it is better to take a ball not ordinary, but round, then the shape of the lamp will be of the correct shape.

Advice! A kids' or rubber beach ball will also work. For very large fixtures, a fitball ball, for example.

Work on creating a ball of threads is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. Inflate the balloon of the required size. Do not forget that the resulting thread lampshade will repeat the shape of the ball. Draw one or two circles above and below with a marker (you can have more below).
  2. Pour the glue into a container and carefully process the threads. And the ball itself can be coated with petroleum jelly with a brush.

Advice! You should not immediately apply glue to all threads - it is better to move along the winding site.

  1. This is followed by winding threads on a ball, taking into account the drawn holes - the winding density depends on how your lampshade will end up.

  1. After the ball is wrapped, you need to leave the future chandelier to dry for at least 24 hours.
  2. The ball bursts and its remnants are easily removed from the now solid structure. The result is a solid thread lampshade.
  3. A hole is cut from above - for the cartridge.
  4. It is necessary to check the strength - another ball is inserted into the lamp and inflated. This will demonstrate design flexibility.

Thus, it is possible to perform local lighting in the kitchen by creating several thread lamps with your own hands. Or you can hang it in the dining area, as shown in the photo.

Do not forget that for a ball of threads, you can make additional decor in the form of interesting coloring, beads, butterflies or artificial flowers, or you can make a whole bunch of balls of different sizes.

By the same principle, you can come up with your own unique lamp design. For example, lace, or a ceiling lamp as in the photo below.

Method 2. Create a masterpiece - you need to try!

Excellent lighting of the kitchen will work out if you make a lamp from beads or fabric with your own hands. You get a lamp in style or a real chandelier-chandelier.

For such work you will need:

  • Old hoops, garden basket, hanging metal planter, or wire to create a frame;
  • Decorative chains;
  • Beads, beads, ribbons, strong threads;
  • Lamp holder.

The luminaire will be a two- or three-level structure of rings located one above the other and connected by chains or wire.

The rings can be taken in different sizes, creating a lampshade in the spirit of vintage classics, or the same - this is the kind of lighting that is performed in.

The base of the lamp is certainly painted, wrapped or decorated, after which they begin to string beads.

The consumption of beads in this project is as follows:

Bottom part: beads with a diameter of 16 mm, 15 pcs. on a thread;

Upper part: beads with a diameter of 12 mm, 31-32 pcs. on the thread.

Here you can vary the tension and the number of threads.

Advice! The work should be carried out by first hanging the chandelier and inserting a cartridge into it.

By analogy, you can create an artificial fruit chandelier for the kitchen. And dim lighting will turn out if you use fabric for sheathing the frame. As a rule, such a lampshade is made for country styles and.

Method 3. Lamps from waste materials - for a modern kitchen!

The most original lamp can be made from such waste material as plastic bottles and disposable spoons - it's beautiful, cheap and environmentally friendly!

We make a lampshade in the style of minimalism and - no additional embellishments from threads and beads, only matte white or colored plastic. To make such a muted kitchen lighting with our own hands, we need:

  • Base from a 5 liter plastic bottle;
  • Socket with wire and lamp;
  • Adhesive for high-quality fixation;
  • Many disposable spoons.

To make a chandelier with our own hands, cut out the bottom of the bottle and cut off the handles of the spoons (not completely, so that a small stalk remains). Using glue, fix the cut spoons on the base bottle. They need to be arranged evenly, orderly, then the lampshade will look attractive.

Advice! Each next row is overlapped, without gaps.

The resulting chandelier will resemble fish scales. However, it should be remembered that such a structure is quite dense, which means that additional lighting will definitely be needed in the kitchen.

The shape of the lamp can be different, for example, in the form of a lotus.

Such decorations can also be made from disposable spoons.

A lamp made from plastic bottles, or rather, from their bottoms, made by hand, may seem lacy or consisting of many small flowers.

Advice! Such a lampshade can be made not white, but colored, which means that you need to take colored bottles or paint it with paint of the original color: copper, gold, steel, pink, black, etc.

The resulting lampshade can be hung in the kitchen or over the dining table.

Let your kitchen be cozy and light! We wish you creative success and present some more great ideas for making kitchen lamps with your own hands from improvised means.

Lighting is the most important component of the interior. Coziness and comfort level of our home depends on lighting. The play of light and shadow allows you to play up the winning moments of the interior and divert attention from unfortunate moments. And also - lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers and lamps create the atmosphere that we call "home". Unique lamps and the best way is to make a lampshade with your own hands to make your home only "your own", personal, individual. Homemade shades and lampshades are the hobbyhorse that will set your home apart from others.

A few words about safety

In the manufacture of lamps, floor lamps and chandeliers in industrial conditions, the minimum distance from the "body" of the lamp to the materials is preliminarily calculated. This distance depends on the power and thermal radiation of the lamp and on the type (combustibility) of the material from which the shade / lampshade is made. At home, hardly anyone will bother with such calculations. And in order not to create a dangerous situation, it is worth adhering to certain rules.

And in general, having made a lampshade and installing it, in the first few days, pay attention to whether the lamp is warming up. Heating is any increase in temperature above the environment. If the ceiling light feels “warm,” change the light bulb to a less powerful one. Check again. So until the home-made lampshade is warming up.

Where to get the frame

If you want to remake an old lamp, a floor lamp, the sconces with which the old lampshade has fallen into disrepair, you can simply use the existing base, stripping the old material. Before starting work, inspect the frame well, if there is rust or a damaged coating somewhere, maybe it is worth tearing off and painting everything again? At the same time, the color can be changed. If the old frames are not there, you can buy an inexpensive lamp (in a store or at a flea market) and do the same with it. Good lampshades can, by the way, be made from waste baskets. They are wire, there are plastic. The main thing is to find the right one in shape and size. Then make a hole in the bottom for the cartridge. Further, it is up to the decoration / cladding, and here there are a lot of options.

If this method is not available either, you can make a lampshade without a frame (there are some) or make a frame yourself. The material for making a frame for a lampshade with your own hands is: wire, wood (wooden or bamboo sticks, specially cut elements), plastic bottles.

How to make a frame for a homemade lampshade from wire

The wire for the lamp frame needs aluminum or steel. It's easy to work with aluminum, but it wrinkles easily. This is not very important when the lampshade is already in operation, but this fact must be taken into account during operation: you can spoil the shape. On the other hand, this plasticity allows you to easily and simply make changes to the form during operation. So the option is not bad. Aluminum wire can be "extracted" from electric cables. You will have to remove the protective shell and you can use it.

The steel wire is more resilient so that it retains its shape well. It can be searched on the construction market. Working with her is more difficult. It is desirable to have strong male hands nearby.

In addition to the wire, you will need powerful pliers and pliers for work. The frame of a lampshade usually consists of two rings and posts connecting them. The shape of the future lampshade depends on the size of the rings and the shape of the racks. Questions may arise about the number of racks and how they are attached. The number of posts depends on the size of the rings and how “round” you want the lampshade. The more racks, the smoother the fabric will lay. So you choose, but the optimal distance between the racks in the lower circle is about 5-6 cm.

Techniques for creating a wire lampshade frame

How you attach the stack to the rings of your lampshade depends on the thickness and type of wire and the tools you have. The easiest is to make a small hook at the end, then clamp it tightly. And so that the ring does not slide left and right, preliminarily process the wire at the attachment point with coarse-grain sandpaper. This is an option for thick aluminum wire. If the wire is steel, with a diameter of 1.2-2 mm or more, the best way is. The thinner wire can be bent and wrapped around the ring, or you can also make a hook.

If you make hooks, wrap the wire, the appearance is far from being as ideal as that of factory frames. But this imperfection will be covered by the lampshade itself. If you still care about it, find a ribbon of a suitable color (usually matched to the color of the lampshade) and carefully wrap the resulting frame. It will be much better. The tape can be coated with PVA glue and, wet, tightly, turn by turn, wrap the frame.

Wire mesh

If you can find a thin wire mesh, you can quickly make an almost perfect cylindrical shade for a floor lamp, table lamp, night light, candle shade, etc. All you need is to cut off a piece of mesh of the required length and width, roll it into a ring and fasten the wires by wrapping them around the racks.

To prevent the mesh from straightening when cutting off a piece, cut so that there are long loose ends on both sides. They will be used to fasten the cylindrical shade. And the imperfection of the upper and lower rings can be masked with a tape of the desired color.

From a five liter plastic bottle

An interestingly shaped lampshade can be obtained from a large-capacity plastic bottle. There are bottles of 5-6 liters and even 10. Here they can be used. We cut off the top or bottom from the container - depending on what you like best. In the cut off part, we make a ring for the cartridge. If the top is cut off, the neck can be used for some cartridges. For those with a larger diameter, it will have to be cut.

Then we cut out the excess plastic, form the rims and pillars. In order not to be mistaken, you can first draw all the lines with a marker. It will be easier to cut. Everything is elementary. Then we just decorate. And yes, you must cut out the plastic, otherwise the warm air will have nowhere to go.

We make lampshades on the frame

There are enough options for how you can make a lampshade cover:

From ribbons

The easiest and fastest way to transform an old lampshade for a floor lamp or table lamp is to use ribbons. You need a frame or a lampshade in the form of a cylinder. It can be “bare” or covered with fabric. If you use a “bare” frame, the light will break through the cracks, which will create interesting lighting effects, but the lighting will be heterogeneous. Reading in such a light is inconvenient - this is an interior solution. If you need even lighting, wrap the fabric over the frame first. It can be the same color as the ribbons, a couple of tones darker or lighter, can be contrasting. It all depends on your desire. And remember that the darker the fabric, the less light the lamp shade passes through.

We take a tape 1-2.5 cm wide. We fix it on the wrong side of the lampshade with PVA glue, additionally fixing it with a pin. If you took a wire frame without fabric, we attach it to the upper or lower rim (you can sew with your hands, you can use glue). Then we begin to wrap the entire frame, from top to bottom, placing the turns of the tape close to each other, but without overlap.

Having finished the circle, unfold the tape 90 °. We fix it in this position (with a needle and thread or PVA glue, glue from a pistol, temporarily fixing it with a pin, pressing it with a clothespin). Then we pass the tape under the first tape, take it out, put it on top of the second one, then pull it down again, pull it up through one tape. So, gradually, we create a weave, filling the entire lampshade.

Alternatively, you can skip two vertical belts. But then you need to make sure that each next row is shifted by one cross member. Then you get a different type of weave. Such a lampshade is ideal for floor lamps, as it will direct the light downward, and the dispersion through the walls will be small.

In this version, the ribbons can be the same, they can be of the same color, but of different texture, they can differ by a couple of tones or be contrasting. The tapes can be run in a continuous circle around the circle, or after a certain distance. If you find a wide tape and overlap it, then you won't need horizontal ones at all. And if you use a braided or twisted cord (in the lower photo on the right), we get a completely different kind of lampshade. So only this lampshade finishing technique gives a lot of options.

Let's briefly present the ideas. There are many options for how you can customize standard lampshade frames. The first method has already been announced: you can knit a lamp shade cover on knitting needles or crochet. Several options in the photo.

Not everyone knows how to knit. It's easier to work with beads, especially if you glue them. You can decorate old fabric with beads, sequins, beads of different shapes and sizes. You can make such a "new-old" lampshade with your own hands in a couple of hours. Pick up jewelry that matches the color, coat the fabric with PVA glue, glue the jewelry. To complete the image, you can assemble pendants from beads and beads that are attached to the lower rim, but this is already painstaking work. Although the effect is interesting.

You can sew a new fabric lampshade. But it is not necessary to make it an updated copy of the old one. Fantasy should be included! If the lamp or floor lamp is in the girls' room, a new lamp shade cover can be made in the form of a skirt. You choose the style of the skirt yourself. It looks interesting in the fold. With and without ruffles.

You can use an old geographic map in the boy's room. They are on thick paper. If the paper is not thick enough, first you need to glue the card onto the cardboard, and then glue the lampshade from such a blank.

Original shades are obtained if the finished frame is braided with threads or ropes. The ropes can be natural. In this case, they are gray, brown beige. Thin synthetic colored cords can be found. They will make more "fun" in color products. The situation is even simpler with knitting threads. They are thin, thick, textured, with a smoothly changing color. In general, the mass of options.

We take the frame and weave it in a certain pattern. You can start with the racks. Braid each stand with a pigtail (the length of the threads should be 3 times the height of the stand). When this work is over, we begin to stretch the threads / ropes between the posts. They will need to be passed through the pigtails, so with threads it is more convenient to do this with a needle, and the ropes can be inserted like that.

The second option is to first entangle the entire frame horizontally, and then braid the racks. The pigtail will not work here anymore, you just need to fix the turns on the rack with inclined stitches with a certain slope. This version is somewhat simpler in execution, but the "pigtails" look more decorative.

Homemade shades without a frame

Many materials are tough enough to maintain their shape independently and, at the same time, they are flexible enough to make something interesting out of them. Well, there are a lot of such homemade lampshades. And almost all of them are worth your attention. Here is only part, the other part will go to the section with photos (see below).

From knitted lace napkins

Many people have crocheted napkins and they lie in “zashniks,” since it’s a pity to throw it away and they don’t know how to use it. There is a very interesting idea - to make of them a lampshade for a chandelier on a suspension. In addition to napkins, you will need a large balloon or an inflatable ball, glue for heavy wallpaper (vinyl, silkscreen, etc.), a brush.

We soak the glue according to the instructions, wait until it swells. We inflate the ball or take the ball, hang it up. When the glue is ready, lay out a napkin on some clean surface, coat it with glue, put it on a ball.

It is necessary to spread it on such a condition that a hole for the cartridge remains in the center. Glue the napkins one by one. They should be laid out so that the edges overlap slightly. When all the napkins are laid, we coat them with glue again and leave to dry. When the glue is dry, blow off the ball or ball (the ball can be punctured, if not sorry) and take it out through the hole. That's all, the lace lampshade is ready.

In some cases, problems arise with how to hang the finished lampshade on the cartridge. The problem is solved simply - take a transparent plastic bottle, cut off its neck, if necessary, expand the hole to the required size (so that it fits tightly on the cartridge), then cut off the plastic so that it turns out a ring 5-7 cm wide. This ring is coated with PVA glue , and from the inside of the ball glue to the lampshade.

Round shades of thread

Practically using the same technology, you can make round and semicircular stylish shades. Choose threads of the right color. Their composition is absolutely unimportant - color, thickness and texture are important. They can be shaggy, smooth, twisted, thinner and thicker. The appearance depends on it. It is most convenient to work with cotton threads of medium thickness. They absorb glue well and then, after drying, keep their shape perfectly.

You will also need a ball or a ball. This will be the base of the lampshade that sets the shape. The size of the base is selected at will. The threads will need to be glued together, for this you will need PVA glue. It is poured into a container, diluted with water in a 1: 1 ratio.

You can use other glue. It is important that after drying it becomes transparent. These are WB-29 from TYTAN Professional and D2 glue for carpentry work. If you will be using any of these types of glue, read the instructions.

On the ball or ball, draw a circle that will be slightly smaller in size than the lamp holder. Draw a larger circle on the opposite side - this will be the lower edge of the plafond. Now everything is ready, we can proceed.

We coat the threads with glue and wrap them on the ball in a chaotic manner. It is more convenient to do this if the glue is poured into the container - you can lower the entire skein there, and just pull the thread slowly. With glue in a tube, everything is not so comfortable: you have to coat areas up to a meter long, wind it up, smear it again. It takes much longer. This is if you use non-PVA. But on the other hand, the products are more rigid and do not sag, do not change shape over time, as it can happen with filament lampshades on PVA.

When winding the threads around the ball, carefully circumvent the drawn circles. If you accidentally climbed into the "forbidden territory", we simply move the threads, forming an even (more or less even) edge. When the threads run out or you decide that there is enough density, the process can be stopped. Thread the edge of the thread between others. All. Then we coat the ball with wound threads again with glue (PVA can be poured) and leave to dry (at least 2 days). To prevent the ball from rolling, we find a bowl or saucepan and use it as a stand.

The last step is to blow off the ball or ball. If the ball has a nipple, push it with a thin wire, releasing air. We take out the deflated ball. That's all, you can thread the lamp inside and test the lampshade.

The technology is the same, but the look is very different ...

Using the technology described above, you can make not only round shades. Rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal. Choose a base that is easy to remove, wrap threads soaked in glue, braid, even sticks, newspaper tubes, etc. After drying, remove the base and now, you made a lampshade with your own hands. A couple of examples in the photo below.

You can also use sticks…. Only wrap the ball too with cling film and use not transparent PVA glue, but transparent carpentry

Making a lamp with your own hands (step by step with a photo)

First, on the back of the paper, you need to draw lines that will create the relief of the lamp. Below is a drawing according to which it is proposed to make markings.

Fold the paper along the marked lines in order to get a kind of accordion. At this stage, it is important not to rush and do everything carefully so that the lamp comes out even and beautiful.

Now create a paper shade around the holder. At the junction, the sheet can be glued with ordinary PVA glue or connected in any other way. Note that without gluing the edges, it will be easier for you to change the light bulb in this fixture.

Our Chinese lanterns are ready! In the photo below you can see what happened in the end.

From such a simple material as wood, you also have the opportunity to make a very creative lamp with your own hands. It is enough just to look around: nature itself inspires us with its extraordinary forms for creativity. Each of us at least once in his life noted the beautiful shape of a branch or driftwood. Dekorin proposes to reflect their beauty in interior design as an original and functional lighting fixture.

Using a branch, you can make a lamp out of wood yourself without the use of special tools and skills. You can easily find the necessary material in the forest or near the house. The main thing is that this snag is already dried up, but not too rotten, because it will have to support the weight of the shades and at the same time serve you as long as possible.

How to make a lampshade for a lamp with your own hands from threads

Such a lamp will become a creative and unique decoration for your interior. It will easily fit both the kitchen and the bedroom from the living room.

So, what you need: a balloon (you need to take into account the size and shape of the inflated balloon, because the shape of the lampshade will depend on this), thick cotton threads (better twine), PVA glue about 250 grams, a suspension cord that will hold the lampshade, an energy-saving lamp, scissors, a needle, any cream, a brush, a cotton pad, and a cotton swab.

Step 1. Inflate the ball to the desired size and tie it securely.

Step 2. Using a cotton pad, lubricate the ball with any cream so that later the threads will be easier to detach from the base.

Step 3. Thread the needle and pierce the bottle of glue through and through. Winding threads around the ball as you see fit, however, do not pull them too tight.

Step 4. When all the threads are wound, go a little glue on those places where it is not enough. Now the lampshade is almost ready and should be removed to dry overnight.

Step 5. In the morning, take a dried lampshade and start pressing the ball with a cotton swab to help it separate from the threads. Carefully and most importantly, slowly blow out the ball, because doing it quickly, you risk creating a dent on the lampshade with your own hands.

Step 5. Designate the future hole and make 4 cuts in all directions so that the bulb with the cartridge can enter the lampshade.

Finally, insert the bulb holder and carefully attach the lamp holder between the threads. The lampshade is completely ready, now it remains only to hang it in the room that you have chosen and enjoy the results of creativity.
