Feeding a child up to a year at sea. Holidays with children at sea abroad. What to feed a child. At sea with a small child - how to prepare and what to take with you

There are three options for how you can organize your baby's meals.

1. Take all the necessary food with you from home

This is definitely a great option. It will save you from headaches and thoughts on the spot, where to get mashed potatoes and juices for the child. After all, not in every resort town they are sold; Souvenirs and other nonsense - please, but baby food ...

However, everything in life has two sides. My wife and I also initially decided to take everything with us. However, after simple calculations, we came to the conclusion that for the entire trip (12 days) we need 108 jars of different baby purees (three for breakfast, three for lunch and three for dinner and multiply all this by 12). It would also take 36 boxes of juice, three for each day. I also needed porridge and milk mixture for the night.

When we mentally weighed all this, it turned out that apart from food, we could not have taken anything else: about 15 kilograms - mashed potatoes (including the weight of cans), about 4 kg. - juice, etc.

If you add diapers, clothes, a cane stroller and other absolutely necessary things for a child to this, it would turn out that in two large suitcases there would be things for a child, and my wife and I would have to be transported in a belt bag, you know, in such sellers in the markets carry money.

I think you will not be delighted if you go down this path. So the option “take everything with you” was rejected by us.

2. Take only a minimum of baby food, give the rest from the table

This option is quite normal if you are going to a five-star hotel where the menu provides diet food. By the way, here I would like to warn those who choose a hotel with the "baby food" option. Usually, this term refers to all sorts of hamburgers, pizza, cola, etc. Your little child needs exactly diet food.

Although it is known that the national cuisine of the southern countries is an abundance of all kinds of seasonings and spices, the restaurant menu may well include rice, broccoli, boiled chicken, etc. All this is quite possible to give the child if he has already tried such products before. Experimenting on a trip is not particularly worth it. It is better for the child to taste them in advance. Then it will be possible to see his reaction in a calm home environment and you will not be in for surprises on a tourist trip.

However, it is still worth taking some canned food with you, since nightly snacks and just snacks cannot be adjusted to the opening hours of the hotel restaurant.

If you go this route, you will need much fewer cans, but you still have to carry juices, instant cereals and soups.

3. Buy all baby food at the resort

This is quite a risky move. Of course, on the one hand, it saves you from having to carry huge trunks of food with you, on the other hand, you become dependent on WHAT exactly the local market can offer.

In order not to get into trouble, it is advisable for you to find out in advance how many kilometers will be from your hotel to the nearest supermarket with a baby food department. If your hotel is located in a resort area in a small town, then there may not be such a store there. Have to go to Big city by bus or taxi, and this pleasure is not cheap.

For example, we lived in a hotel located one kilometer from Kemer. You can walk in 15 minutes and buy everything you need.

Separately, I would like to discuss the range of baby food departments in local supermarkets. Here you may encounter the following problems:

The staff may not speak Russian.

All baby food boxes and jars are signed in the local language.

You may not see the usual mixtures, diapers, purees and juices - you have to rely on the pictures on the label and experiment.

Today I just returned from such a supermarket, located on the northern outskirts of the city Kemer. In general, there were as many as two supermarkets nearby, however, in one of them, it was called Migros:

the range of children's goods was presented very poorly - only one shelf. In the second - carrefour- there was a whole department of children's goods. It was there that I made all the necessary purchases.

In case the staff does not understand Russian, and English is not yours forte, I offer a small phrasebook that will help you buy everything you need.

Hello! Could you help me, please? -
(Hello, could you help me?) -
[ Hello! Where yu help mi, pliiz?]

I would like to buy some children food.
- (I would like to buy some baby food)
– [ Ay wood like to buy sam chidren food ]

My child is one end half years old.
- (My child is one and a half years old)
– [ My Child from One and Half Years Old ]

I need juice, milk and fruit sauce.
– (I need juice, milk and fruit puree)
– [Ay nid juice, milk and fruit south].

Thank you very much.
- (Many thanks)
– [Sank yu vari match]

This is only the minimum set of phrases with which you can start a conversation with the seller. In principle, you can do without any conversations at all. You just methodically explore the entire supermarket, find the right shelf and start picking up cans, bags and other packaging.

Then you go to the cash register, put all your purchases on the tape, they call you a number (you can peep it on the cash register), you take out honestly earned money and give it to the seller. He counts your change, and you proudly leave the supermarket without saying a single word to the seller. Of course, this is a somewhat rough approach, but it's better than nothing.

How to choose baby food abroad

When you are standing in front of a display case with a lot of different jars, boxes and bags, you can easily get confused. All inscriptions are made only in the local language, there may be no English, not to mention Russian.

Let's see what a jar of fruit puree from a Turkish supermarket looks like:

Usually, the fruits or vegetables from which the product is made are drawn on the label, it’s easy to figure it out. There are, however, situations when you cannot determine what kind of fruit it is. The same rule applies here as when picking mushrooms in the forest: if you doubt the found mushroom, you better not take it!

Looking at the label, you need to find one very important information: at what age can you eat the contents of the package. Of course, on some of them a baby is drawn, by whose approximate age you can guess how old he is. However, pay attention to this inscription:

It says here that it can be given to a child from six months.

There is also an expiration date, it might look like this:

Here, as they say, comments are superfluous.

Also note that the nominal weight of a jar of baby food in Turkey is 125 grams instead of 100 grams in Russia:

Finally, one piece of advice. You should not buy a lot of jars of puree, bottles of juice at once. It is better to take one per sample in case your child refuses to eat what you bring. Where will you put the whole batch then?

How much does baby food cost in Turkey

The question is quite important, but I hasten to reassure you. The cost of baby food in Turkey is about the same as in Russia. The price of groceries in a Turkish supermarket is indicated in Turkish liras (TL). Knowing the exchange rate of the lira, you can roughly imagine how much it will be in dollars, and there it is easy to convert to rubles.

For example, a jar of fruit puree costs about 2.20TL in Turkey, which means about 35 rubles in rubles. A 100 gram bottle of juice costs 1.10TL - about 18 rubles. Agree - the prices do not bite.

Thus, instead of carrying a huge suitcase of baby food with you, you can easily buy everything you need right on the spot. The cost will be approximately comparable, but in addition to children's things and food, you can take something for yourself.

If you have such a thing, be sure to take it with you. If it is not yet available, then a trip to Turkey with a child is an excellent reason to purchase this very useful device.

And yet, do not forget to collect the right first aid kit for the child:

To start, some general guidelines: to kid the first year of life is not worth in the near future before the trip (7-10 days) to introduce complementary foods or new foods, wean the baby from the breast or change the mixture; for a trip with a baby, choose the most comfortable (as far as you can afford from a financial point of view) living conditions with a minimum time spent on the road.

Infants (up to 4-6 months).

If child is breastfeeding, then there is nothing difficult in breastfeeding a baby in a car, plane, train or on the beach. Of course, subject to simple hygiene measures: before feeding, you need to wash your hands with running water (or bottled water) or at least a damp sanitary napkin (preferably odorless). But there are nuances: for example, changes in the mother’s diet will definitely affect the composition of milk. Therefore, try to avoid exotic products (no matter how much you would like to “push” pineapples, mangoes and other delicious fruits at the resort), and drink only bottled water for drinking. While on vacation in countries such as Turkey and Egypt, it may be worth postponing trips to the sights for the future. This will inevitably lead to meals in a car or bus, as well as in dubious, from the point of view of hygiene, cafes or restaurants. It’s not worth the risk: if a mother develops an intestinal infection, most likely, she will not bypass the baby either (however, other family members should also be careful and keep hygiene). In Europe, you should also not abuse foods that can cause allergies (recall that these include exotic fruits, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, carrots, whole milk, eggs, fish, seafood, caviar, chocolate, natural coffee, nuts, honey, and some other). And, of course, no beer (even if you are vacationing in the Czech Republic or Germany) and other alcoholic beverages. Somewhat harder to organize on vacation nutrition artificial children. You will need to bring a sterilizer and a bottle warmer with you. baby food, boiled water to dilute the dry formula (you can stock up on bottled baby water) and, of course, the mixture that he uses child. More convenient, in this sense, packages with a ready-made liquid mixture, but if the baby received a dry mixture, it is not necessary to urgently transfer it to liquid before the trip. Do not forget that child- an artificial person should receive additionally (this is especially true in a hot climate!) unsweetened water at the rate of 20 ml per kilogram of body weight child. That is, for a six-month-old baby weighing 8.5 kg, an additional 170 ml of water per day will be required (it should be given between feedings), but in any case, in the first year of life, no more than 200 ml per day.

Infants (up to 12 months).

On vacation, try to limit yourself to those foods that child already received. If you went to hot countries for a sufficiently long period (3-4 weeks), and the baby is just at the stage of introducing new types of complementary foods, then wait at least 5-7 days after arriving at the place of rest before introducing foods unfamiliar to the baby. Try to bring the necessary jars of mashed potatoes and packages of cereals with you. By weight, this is not small, but health child worth it. Whether you will find the necessary puree in a resort shop in some Turkish city is a big question (by the way, for the purchase of baby food (if the situation still requires it) in such places it is better to look into pharmacies). Of course, in extreme cases, you can take boiled vegetables from the buffet (potatoes, cauliflower or carrots), mash thoroughly with a fork, add breast milk or used in the diet child mixture - this is a variant of vegetable puree for lunch. Since the trip is already enough stress for the child's body (when relaxing in hot countries, add to this the acclimatization, which takes 3-10 days), try not to change your diet too much. If you adhered to the standard mode: 6.00–10.00–14.00–18.00–22.00, leave everything as it is (according to local time). If the baby’s meal time does not coincide with the restaurant’s opening hours at the hotel, sit in your room or in the many outdoor cafes on site (but in the shade) for feeding. For any mode change child can react both with a decrease in appetite, sleep disturbance, increased excitability or tearfulness, and with a decrease in immunity, which, in conditions of high crowding of people, is fraught with acute illnesses or exacerbation of existing ones. And no matter how much you would like to stay all day on the beach, this is not suitable for you with a baby. From 10 am to 4 pm it is desirable to be in the shade. So don't take it with you. children food, it is better to return to the room or to the hotel cafe and feed the baby there (after thoroughly washing your hands - yours and child and rinsing the appliances with boiled water). If it seems to you that after arriving at the resort, the baby eats little, do not insist. Increase the amount of liquid in the diet (water and/or breast milk), reduce your time at the beach.

Children from one to one and a half years.

How not great is the temptation to feed such an “adult” child products from your table, take your time. Food for a baby of this age remains mashed (albeit not through a sieve, but at least on a grater; soft foods - for example, boiled potatoes - can be mashed with a fork). Many foods are still banned, and the addition of salt (not to mention other spices so generously used in catering establishments) and sugar are strictly regulated. So it's better to travel for child take jars from baby food and packages of cereals. From the buffet at the resort you can use boiled vegetables, boiled rice, boiled meat, boiled and baked fish, meatballs, cheese, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, white bread, creamy and vegetable oil, jam, marmalade, raw fruits and vegetables. Don't give baby already cut fruits and vegetables, take whole fruits and rinse them thoroughly with running water (there is nothing shameful if you even use soap for this), rinse with boiling water and cut. Some hotels can also provide children's specialized nutrition(the so-called children's buffet, but it is better to clarify these nuances in advance at a travel agency) and convenient for a small child children's chairs. However, don't expect much variety - porridge, yoghurts, fruits, juices, and even unhealthy (though often very beloved by children) french fries.

Children from one and a half to three years.

With children of this age, nutrition issues are somewhat simplified. From the buffet, in addition to the products already listed above, you can take for the baby and pasta(a couple of times a week), and muesli flakes with milk, and dried fruits (for example, raisins, dried pineapples, dried apricots, nuts - in the absence of food allergies). The kid will like freshly squeezed juices, but in any case, do not offer him carbonated drinks, and do not abuse whipped cream, mixing them with fruits. « Adults" juices from packages (i.e. concentrate plus water and sugar) to kid it is better not to give, and adults from this composition are also of little use. Do not forget that children of this age group are happy to imitate adults and, first of all, parents. If you value your health child, try to adjust yourself to the correct nutrition. Since children at this age are very active and, for sure, having run around the tables with food, they will begin to demand something specific (not always allowed for their food), immediately, if possible, decide on a place in the hotel restaurant - preferably away from the buffet, from noisy companies and other distractions child from eating food. Do not forget to carry bottled water with you (to the beach, for a walk). Better keep offering baby take a few small sips than, having come to a restaurant or cafe, give him two glasses of water to drink (and child can then just refuse to eat). In addition, water is also useful for additional rinsing of vegetables and fruits that you will take with you to the beach (after thoroughly washing them in your hotel room). And it's not worth buying. baby pies and other “goodies” baked no one knows where and from what products, in large numbers offered by peddlers on the beaches.

Children from three to six years old.

In terms of proximity to the "adult" table, this age group is the simplest. But do not flatter yourself: a five-year-old child will not be able to eat everything that is offered to his parents. Pay attention to foods with a lot of spices, undercooked meats and products with blood, sushi, sashimi and other foods with raw fish, kebabs, as well as anything cooked over an open fire, french fries, raw eggs or products containing them - these are what it is desirable to avoid in baby food. Healthy baby you can try the beautiful and delicious sweets that some hotels are famous for, but not a lot and not all at once (no more than one new product per day). Moderation in this sense is the best helper. It is better to choose ice cream without additives (that is, without unnecessary dyes) and decorate it yourself with pieces of fruit or candied fruits.

What to take on the road?

When planning a flight by plane, you should take care of specialized baby food in advance - it can be ordered in advance when booking tickets (this is included in the price). Moreover, such a service is valid not only in foreign airlines, but also in some Russian ones. When traveling by car or by train, you can not do without a special car refrigerator. Be sure to make stops to eat, if you can’t wash your hands with running water, wipe them with wet cleansing or disinfecting wipes. For better hygiene, it is very convenient to use disposable tableware (pack plates, spoons and cups for the baby in a separate bag). Choose low-perishable products, individually packaged (they are most convenient to use on the road). Opening a jar of baby food- do not store it, even if the baby has eaten less than half. Grab boiled meat or cutlets, boiled potatoes, boiled eggs, cheese (remember, it is better to eat such products first of all, they do not keep for a long time, it is even better to put them in a travel refrigerator), packages of yogurt, cookies, vegetables and fruits washed at home, buns, dried fruits, bottled water. Buying fruits and vegetables on the road is not worth it - it will be quite difficult to wash them properly. It is almost impossible to guarantee that a long trip with a child will go smoothly. Just like you foresee ALL nutritional nuances of a small traveler. But you should always be ready to solve the most common difficulties.

See the article Is Restraint Appropriate? Breastfeeding in Public Places, No. 7, 2004

Whole milk - milk, during the processing of which none of its components - proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and mineral salts - has been changed qualitatively and / or quantitatively.

Acclimatization - adaptation of the body to new climatic conditions, for example, to high air temperature, intense sunlight, contrast in air and water temperatures, adaptation digestive system to new food products and water composition, the transition to a new daily routine associated with a change in time zones.

“The birth of a child is not a reason to stop your life! Keep being active, arrange joint trips. A child is not a fragile flower, it is not worth constantly protecting and languishing over it. Traveling and a child are absolutely natural things, it is much easier to go somewhere while the baby is still small than when he is a little older!” - say some parents. The latter reproach them with the following arguments against: “No one has yet canceled acclimatization, plus the possibility of contracting infectious diseases, as well as the problem of obtaining medical care. In addition, the regime and environment are changing. Be patient for two or three years and travel to your health! To drag a baby to the sea is at least selfish!”

In some families, the child begins to travel with his parents literally from the cradle

So who is right in the argument? Partly both. Breast-feeding provides protection from many dangers, and the confidence of parents in a happy outcome of the trip will help to spend this time in a good mood and, most likely, everything will turn out wonderfully. Of course, there are also dangers and we should not forget about them. It is the parents who are responsible for the life and health of the baby, so careful preparation for the trip is a paramount task before a long journey. Do not forget - a baby has appeared in the family, whose interests and needs must be taken into account.

Pros and cons of a sea holiday with a baby

It is worth going to the sea with a one-year-old child because:

  1. the baby will get the opportunity to breathe fresh air, full of iodine and oxygen, and not exhaust gases;
  2. in the body under the influence of the sun, an active synthesis of vitamin D will occur;
  3. hardening and stimulation of the protective properties of the skin due to sea water will occur.

The sea also has its drawbacks, which we will discuss below:

  1. material costs for choosing a good comfortable place to live;
  2. it is important to think over the rest to the smallest detail, especially those related to the health of the little traveler;
  3. parents should be prepared that they will not be able to completely relax, because they will have to devote a lot of time to the baby: it is important to adapt to the existing regime (this can be decided if a grandmother or a nanny goes with you, or the host hotel provides an appropriate service);
  4. you will need to carry a lot of things with you (a first aid kit, food, a supply of water, things, diapers, bathing accessories).

Children's body needs the sun, under the influence of which vitamin D is produced.

Traveling to the sea with a baby of the first year of life is quite possible, the main thing is to take into account the features, think over important points and make lists of the necessary. Let's consider everything in more detail.

When and where to go?

Dear reader!

This article talks about typical ways solutions to your questions, but each case is unique! If you want to know how to solve your particular problem - ask your question. It's fast and free!

Pediatricians usually do not welcome trips to the sea coast until 3-4 years old, but in the absence of contraindications (illness or irritability), the doctor does not have the right to prohibit such a trip. Many parents who have experience of relaxing with children of one year of age (8, 9, 10 months) argue that it is even easier to travel with such babies than with more independent children.

Tatyana Sokolova, a pediatrician at the Clinic for Children's Diseases at the Moscow Sechenov Academy, says a long trip to the south is most preferable for infants. This is due to the fact that babies are harder to acclimatize.

The adaptation period can last up to 5 days. The doctor is convinced that even a short rest of 2 weeks for children over 3 years old will be more useful than its complete absence. The child will not have time to fully improve his health during this time, but good help for immunity nevertheless will receive.

On a long trip, the child will have time to improve his health, his body will prepare for the cold season.

Choice of transport

When choosing which mode of transport to use, think first of all about the convenience for the child:

  1. The plane is the fastest, but also the most expensive option (we recommend reading:). For infants under 6 months of age, doctors do not recommend flying. If you wish to travel before this date, it is better to use the ground mode of transport. Experienced vacationers know that the most best places- in the first row, there is more free space. For the comfort of the baby during takeoff and landing, offer him to suck on the breast or bottle.
  2. The train is economical, but long. Don't skimp on comfort - take a coupe. For a trip, choose a not very hot period, and also carefully monitor hygiene. Do not neglect disinfection: wipe the walls and the table, which is desirable to cover with a tablecloth or towel. Be sure to take wet wipes, antiseptic sprays and other useful little things with you. Take with you a supply of dairy products (take care to buy a thermal bag), fruits, berries (considering the age of the child). When you arrive at your destination, buy fresh food from nearby stores, especially if some of the food has gone bad during your trip or you are not going to breastfeed your baby.
  3. The car is convenient, but long. When planning to visit the Crimea or any other resort, make stops as often as possible for walks and airing the car. Make sure your child has a car seat.

Which mode of transport to prefer is up to you. The main thing - do not forget when choosing that a small passenger differs from an adult in needs and desires.

It is not worth transporting very tiny children on an airplane - this is a big burden for the body

Where is the best place to relax?

Doubting which place would be more successful for relaxing with a one-year-old or one-month-old peanut, you can listen to the advice of Dr. Komarovsky, who claims that the best places are a summer house on the river bank or the sea coast with a small number of people and at the same time well equipped. Sudden climate change is not the best option. Do not change winter for summer. For kids, the most successful choice would be in favor of a country with a similar climate. When choosing a hotel, it is advisable to take into account the presence of a sandy beach with a gentle slope. It is better to take out the little one to calm, cozy places, located away from noisy discos.

When aiming to visit local attractions, choose cities where the most interesting locations are located close to each other in order to be able to visit them all without getting tired and without exhausting a small child. Look for a place to live in the same area as the future walking routes.

For relaxation with babies, choose the most comfortable and equipped areas of stay. From the near south, give preference to the Crimea, Anapa, Gelendzhik and Kislovodsk. In the autumn vacation you can go abroad: Tunisia, Turkey. Where you really should not travel with small children is in exotic countries.

Holidays in Turkey are ideally planned for autumn, when it is already cold in your own region.

Necessary things

For a trip to the sea with a baby, you need to thoroughly prepare. Below is a sample list of what you need:

  1. More diapers, even if the baby has already mastered the potty. Diapers will come in handy during long excursions, then you do not have to waste energy looking for a toilet.
  2. Disposable diapers are useful for sleeping at night. Sleeping in a diaper in the heat is not much fun. A wet bed is an unpleasant moment, especially if you are not at home, but in a hotel.
  3. Wet wipes without alcohol. Ideally, they should be with aloe or any other emollient herbs.
  4. Be sure to take care and take a sling, ergo backpack or a light stroller-cane (we recommend reading:). Carrying a baby in your arms is extremely uncomfortable and difficult, but carrying a place to rest is not at all burdensome. The baby will always be able to sleep for an hour or two.
  5. Sun cream (we recommend reading:). It is preferable to choose the highest possible protection (SPF50).
  6. Children's first aid kit and cosmetics. It would be wise to think about insurance or plan some kind of reserve for doctor visits.
  7. Inflatable circle and armlets. For babies from 0 to 3 years, a circle is suitable (we recommend reading:) on the neck.
  8. Children's clothing made from natural materials (scarves, panama hats, long-sleeved blouses, etc. should be taken). Don't forget about shoes. For the beach, take comfortable shoes so that the baby does not burn the legs on pebbles or sand. For the beach, also take a blanket or mat for playing and crawling.
  9. Toys (bucket, spatula, molds, watering can, rubber balls, inflatable ball, etc.)

Swimming and sunbathing rules

It is better to introduce the baby to big water after 6 months. While the baby will acclimatize, it is undesirable to bathe him, but it is better to wet only the legs in the sea, and wipe the baby himself with a damp towel. An attempt to enter the sea will be successful if you keep the baby on your hip - so there is less chance that the little one will be scared.

We will advise a safe way to keep the child in the water. Turn the baby back to you, hug him by the chest (one hand is fixed by your forearm, and the other is above your palm). Enter the water with the baby not too deep, lower it on your legs and, holding hands, give the opportunity to walk on the water. It will be interesting for the baby to feel how the water does not allow to move in the usual way. Also good option classes in the water will become a circle.

A baby who has experience swimming in a pool can try his hand at sea. Mom will secure water activities with armlets and support from below. It is important that water is not poured into the baby's nose, mouth or ears. If the child does not want to bathe, do not insist, but rather reduce the time of water procedures or spend them another time.

Time for sunbathing on the beach with a baby - in the morning until 11:00 and in the afternoon - after 17:00. Please be aware of the weather conditions. Avoid overheating in the sun. Alternate sunbathing with sleep and other activities that can be done in the shade or under an umbrella.

Being in the shade, you can give the baby a massage or feed. Do not forget that in the heat you need to drink. Bottled water for children is best taken at a pharmacy, while focusing on well-known brands.

The experience of swimming in the pool will prepare the child to explore the sea

The sun is a health hazard

Children's skin is thinner than adult skin, it is more susceptible to external irritating factors. In the skin of a newborn, the amount of melanin pigment, which is responsible for the brown tint of a tan, is small, so the delicate skin quickly burns out in the sun. Just one blush from sunburn can lead to skin cancer, so always keep your little ones safe from the sun.

Protect your baby from direct sunlight

The most vulnerable skin to sunlight is at the age of up to six months. Infants in the heat should be exclusively in the shade. The very first months of a child's life will allow you to do this without difficulty, because the main activity of a newborn is sleep. When the baby sleeps in the stroller, it is important to ensure that the hood is always up or that the shade is provided by an umbrella or a diaper. A stroller covered with a canopy but placed in the sun can become too hot, causing the baby to have a fever.

Now you can buy a special sun sail for the stroller, which will reliably protect your baby while relaxing on the sea. When on the beach, do not let the child be in reflected sunshine(from water or from sand).

When the child is not yet 1 year old, it is undesirable to use sun protection for him. The baby's skin is still too sensitive and poorly formed, which means there is a risk of allergies and rashes.

Tip: Take an afterburn spray in your travel first aid kit. Most often, doctors advise taking Panthenol. It will relieve acute symptoms after sunburn.

The skin of the baby should be protected from the sun at all times, but it is better to start using the cream after a year.

What to do if the child is overheated?

In case of overheating, you need to go into the shade, and optimally - go home. Wipe the child with a damp cloth, drink water. Bring down the high temperature with an enema with boiled water, the temperature of which will be slightly cooler than room temperature.

Small children do not yet know how to sweat, so they overheat much more often than adults. In addition, it is also a cause of propensity for dehydration and heat stroke.

Activities on the seashore

At sea with a small child, you can do a lot of things, in addition to swimming in the sea:

  • In addition to your favorite toys, gather together beautiful pebbles and shells. Try to look for stones that are different in shape, size, structure.
  • Draw in the sand or walk along the water's edge, leaving footprints behind. Experiment with building on the sand, mixing wet and dry sand, and using pebbles and shells for decoration.
  • Games on the water and on the sand are perfect, developing coordination and teaching spatial orientation.
  • A good option would be a game of inflatable ball. A baby learning to walk can easily train on the sand, because falls here are completely painless and safe.

If you are going to go on vacation with a one and a half year old child, you should carefully plan everything, then the trip will be beneficial. The baby will return from the trip healthier and prepared for the flu-like autumn period.

Yes, the baby moves more, spends a lot of time in the water, spends enough energy. But relatively heat environment changes physiological processes and therefore the need for nutrients also becomes different. The breakfast of a little man, moved to an unusual habitat, should be sparing, as if preparing the body for additional loads. Perfect option- muesli from whole grains with fermented milk drinks, cottage cheese. If it happens at an exotic resort, you can order a vegetable casserole, fruit salad, pastries for a child. As for the latter, again, it is worth giving preference to products made from whole flour (and even better - wholemeal flour). You should not give children natural coffee to drink, even if you dilute this drink with milk, it still will not benefit the baby.

Food at sea should be fractional, and therefore provide for the baby the possibility of a fairly quick snack. After 2-2.5 hours, the child can be given fruits, berries or cookies. Important point: do not indulge children's whims and do not buy sweets endlessly offered by beach vendors. In most cases, they do not have the necessary permits are made from questionable raw materials in unsanitary conditions. It is better to take care of the desires of your son or daughter in advance by purchasing his favorite treat in the store.

As for fruits or berries, regardless of whether they are intended for children or adults, they must be washed thoroughly. The first time - perhaps with ordinary tap water, the second - definitely drinking water(or boiling water, cooled to room temperature). The same applies to vegetables, which, in most cases, are also recommended to be peeled, even if we are talking about young “tails” of carrots.

The lunch of a young traveler should be complete, without dry food, but portions can be significantly reduced. So a child should eat about 100 ml of soup, a meat or fish component - at least 50 g. However, the volume depends on age. The lunch meal begins with a vegetable salad. This rule must be inviolable for the entire duration of the trip. It is with raw vegetables that the baby gets especially much useful substances so necessary for his body. For the first, it’s good to offer mashed soups or cabbage soup, borscht, etc. It is desirable that they be vegetarian, light. For the second, children willingly eat minced meat products - meatballs, meatballs, zrazy. If he starts to act up, refusing the second course, do not insist. Give it to your child after 2-3 hours.

An afternoon snack at sea is better to make fruit. Peach, pear or apple slices can be baked, or you can give it to in kind. It is better to have dinner with cereals or baked goods, for example, casseroles. Evening food should not be plentiful, but at the same time its function is to replenish energy costs.

Moreover, many parents who have traveled with such young children unanimously agree that going to the sea with babies is much easier than with older children who are already walking and running.

However, it is worth considering all the little things in advance to make such a vacation really safe and beneficial for the child. And then your little trip will leave a big and beautiful mark in the memory of the whole family.

At sea with a small child - how to prepare and what to take with you

The acclimatization of a one-year-old child lasts about 10 days in general, so the trip should be planned for at least 2 weeks, and preferably 3 weeks, a month or more. You should refrain from traveling to exotic resorts; at sea with a one-year-old child, it is best to go to the Crimea (perfect), Bulgaria or Turkey.

For a trip with a baby to the sea, you need equipment. Here is a sample list of things you may need during your vacation:

  1. Enough diapers, even if the child is the fact that you may want to go on excursions, which usually take a lot of time, and at this time it is better to see more interesting things than to constantly look for where to put the child to pee.
  2. You can also take disposable sleep diapers with you - it’s hot to sleep in a diaper in summer, and a baby can “wet” on a bed in a boarding house at night, and this will not be very pleasant.
  3. Also stock up on plenty of alcohol-free wet wipes (best with herbs, aloe, or other emollients added).
  4. Take a light stroller, a cane, a sling or an ergonomic backpack - it is difficult and uncomfortable to carry a child in your arms, otherwise he will always have somewhere to sleep or rest.
  5. Sun cream (better to take the maximum SPF 50).
  6. A first aid kit for the baby and a hygienic cosmetic bag with your standard cosmetics. It is also advisable to purchase insurance or allocate a special reserve fund for a pediatrician.
  7. A small inflatable ring and armlets for a child, you can also take a circle around the neck for babies (from 0 to 3 years).
  8. A sufficient number of children's clothes made from natural fabrics, among them there must be a few scarves and panama hats from the sun and a pair of long-sleeved shirts. For the beach, take shoes (so that the baby does not burn the legs on sand or pebbles), a wide sheet or rug where he will play and crawl while on the beach.
  9. A few favorites, in particular, a sand set with a bucket and apiaries, a watering can, rubber balls, an inflatable ball, and more.

Children under one year old at sea - how to swim and sunbathe

Entering the water with an infant is preferably over the age of 6 months. During the acclimatization period, it is better to wet the legs in the sea or wipe the child with a wet towel. So that the baby is not afraid, it is best to keep him on his hip when entering the water.

There is also a safer way to keep your baby in the water. To do this, turn it back to you, hug the baby by the breast with your hand so that one of his arms is fixed with your forearm, and under the other is clasped with your palm.

At a depth suitable for growth, the child can be placed in the water and held by the handles, you can try to “walk” with him, overcoming the resistance of the water, or put him in a circle and swim.

If before that you swam with a baby in the pool, try to work out in the sea, wearing inflatable armlets and holding it from below.

Be careful not to get water in your ears, mouth or nose. If the child resists, it is better to reduce the bathing time or transfer it to another time.

Remember that you can be at sea with a baby until about 11 am and after 5 pm (depending on weather conditions). Make sure that the child does not overheat on the beach - it is better to alternate sunbathing with sleep or other activities under an umbrella or in the shade.

You can also massage and feed your baby there. For drinking, you should use only baby water in bottles of a company known to you (it is best to buy water at a pharmacy).

What to do with a small child on the beach

With a one-year-old child, in addition to swimming, there are many more interesting activities at sea. In addition to the baby's favorite toys, you can pick up interesting pebbles, shells for him, it is best that they be of different colors, sizes and textures.

You can draw with your baby on the sand or “leave footprints” together at the edge of the sea, try to create something from wet and dry sand, build pebble towers, and so on.

Any sea games for children are also suitable, allowing them to explore space and develop coordination, for example, with an inflatable ball. Also use the soft sand of the beach so that the child learns to walk more firmly and confidently - after all, falling here is not at all scary.

With proper preparation and sufficient control by parents, a trip with a one-year-old child to the sea will help to perfectly heal and strengthen your baby's body before the autumn-winter period.
