Interior doors to the ceiling in an ordinary apartment. Sliding doors sliding into the wall: features and installation. The color of the walls

Unique design stylish high doors of the Helder series can become a real surprise for the consumer. In this series, our designers managed to combine equanimity and coldness with a bright and unique character. And this is especially interesting in view of the fact that the series includes models in cold colors.

General design distinguishing tall wooden interior doors "Helder" seems simple and at the same time ambiguous and active. The fabric of the product looks cut into pieces. At the same time, the division is located asymmetrically, which adds liveliness to the overall image.

It seems that the canvas at the high interior door, consisting of paneled rectangles, is filled with a special charm. At the same time, the “cuts” that formed the general design of this series did not remain wide and empty. Inside the cruciform depression, exactly in the middle of each line, there are slats. The width of these slats is exactly 1/3 of the width of the opening, and in height they exactly coincide with the height of the projection of the panels.

The inherent accuracy of all calculations allows us to create unique solutions. A clear analysis and selection of all parameters, drawing up a design based on classical calculation formulas, modern equipment and responsibility in work each time lead to the creation of unique high wooden doors that can decorate any room.

Hardware used in tall wooden doors

Modern doors of the Helder line are made in only three color variations: black, gray and white. And the sophistication of this choice is emphasized by the fittings used in these products.

The handle and lock, located just below the middle of the door leaf, represent a restrained and elegant composition. The chrome-plated finish, the slight bend of the handle and the comfortable shape allowed it to become not only a decoration for a tall interior door, but also a practical element that ensures ease of use.

- this is a diagnosis, sounds like a sentence. They also say that doors above 2-2.20 do not exist. We got used to living low, without the flight of the soul :). Baths without windows, 2.50 ceilings, 60 cm wide toilets ... etc. These habits are ingrained, it is difficult to wean.

I try to deal with this to the best of my modest possibilities ... It takes a long time to convince each new customer to abandon stereotypes and take a fresh look at their home. For example, to make doorways at least 2.40 (in this case, the canvases are 2.30), or even better, to cut the wall completely to the ceiling, leaving the wall for the installation of decorative molding ... I explain that such doors will significantly change the appearance of the apartment: they will increase the height of the ceilings, add volume to the room, will make the space more mobile ...

And now, a small digest of materials about our projects that used this interesting technique.

Such verticals in the interior will create a sense of splendor of the room ... and it does not matter what the existing ceiling is - 2.50 or 3 meters. Such doors will effectively fit into any interior. When they are open, different spaces are combined, a feeling of enfilade is created, the depth of the room ...

2. History lessons. Apartment on Kotelnicheskaya embankment

Having filled the interior with details of the Stalinist Empire style, we restored historical justice: the apartment is located in one of the Moscow skyscrapers that have become a symbol of this style.

How to order such a miracle?

Doors are always made to order, they cost significantly more than standard doors, but the effect of them will be the most noticeable. If at the same time you place the curtain rods at the same maximum height above the windows, add a ceiling molding that will "go to the ceiling" no one without a tape measure will never determine the true heights of the room ...

Doors, as well as matching decorative wall panels, are made by our carpenters according to the designs of the interior designers. An order can be made by contacting our studio.

When decorating an apartment or a private house, every detail is important, what can we say about such a functional and necessary piece of furniture as an interior door. In an apartment or house, doors have long ceased to satisfy the owners' need to isolate a particular room, becoming active participants in the formation of the image of the home, its color palette and stylistic direction in design. The variety of models, manufacturing methods, materials and colors allows you to find a suitable option for any type of home, for owners with any size of the budget. But you still have to solve several difficult dilemmas before going to the store to shop - what material should the interior doors be made of, what shape and size should the canvases be, deaf or with inserts, dark or light, laconic or with decor? We hope that our selection of hundreds of interesting design projects for modern rooms will help you with this difficult decision.

The shape and dimensions of interior doors

Even if you plan to repair or replace door leaves in an apartment where all openings have standard sizes, you must first make sure of this and make accurate measurements. After all, making a door leaf according to individual measurements will not only increase the estimate for repairs, but also "stretch" the whole process in time. The standard width of the doorway is considered to be 60, 70, 80 and 90 centimeters - it all depends on the room in which the doors will be installed. But with the height of the canvases from modern manufacturers, everything is so unambiguous. Until recently, it was rarely possible to find finished goods with a height of more than 2 meters. Nowadays, a door leaf with a height of 2.1 or 2.2 meters is a private phenomenon.

Designers recommend using door leaves with a non-standard height, more than 2 meters, in order to visually raise the ceilings of the premises. But not every owner is pleased with the need for preliminary preparation of a standard doorway, its expansion. It's up to you - to look for a door leaf for the existing structure or to "fit" the doorway to the door model you like.

Most buyers prefer to choose standard models that can be found in the range of stores, quickly and inexpensively. After all, making a canvas according to your size and design will cost significantly more, it will take more time. But one cannot but admit the fact that individual project the canvas not only fits perfectly into the parameters of the room, but can also become an interior decoration, its highlight.

Type of construction and method of fixing interior linens

The most popular, despite the emerging alternatives, among our compatriots are single-leaf and double-leaf hinged interior doors. The simplicity and tradition of the design and method of opening, the versatility of the canvases and the ease of installation, coupled with a wide range of price solutions, bribe Russians to purchase just such doors for their homes, whether it is an apartment of a standard construction or a private house built according to the project.

Obviously, the most common version of the door leaf in apartments and private houses is a single-leaf swing door. But bivalve canvases are also used quite actively. A wide doorway gives certain advantages - a feeling of spaciousness, more illumination of corridors and other auxiliary rooms, the ability to transfer large-sized furniture. But there are also disadvantages for double-leaf models - a lot of free space is required to open two canvases at once, furniture cannot be installed near the doorway, which is important for rooms with a small area.

The biggest drawback of swing doors in the interior is the need to free up a fairly large amount of usable room space. For small rooms or simply spaces where there is no way to ensure the opening of the doors near the doorway, sliding doors are used. Created on the principle of compartment doors, such mechanisms, on the one hand, help to create a complete isolation of one space from another, and on the other hand, they create savings of useful square meters premises.

Initially, the movement of the compartment doors took place along two guides - one was attached to the floor, the second - to the wall above the doorway. Nowadays, sliding doors with only one upper guide are becoming more and more popular (nothing prevents a person from moving in doorway). In addition, the very design of the guide often becomes part of the stylistic involvement of the interior - a bright or dark accent, a detail that emphasizes the mood of the room.

One of the door variations that help save space and do not require free meters to open is sliding doors. Such models differ from sliding doors in that the canvas "leaves" not away from the opening, but inside the wall or partition. Hence the first drawback of such mechanisms - the need to arrange a niche. It is best to plan such structures in advance, at the stage of preparation for repair.

The least popular, but used in some cases, the option of the door leaf is two and three-leaf doors, sliding like an accordion. If you need to save room space, but there is no opportunity to install sliding doors, then the "accordion" canvas is your option.

Choosing a material for making doors

The choice of material for the manufacture of interior doors is influenced by two factors:

  • repair budget;
  • the specificity and microclimate of the room, its functionality (for the kitchen, bathroom, bathroom and laundry, it is important to take into account the level of high humidity and temperature differences).

I must say that the main criterion for choosing a material for the manufacture of door panels is still your financial capabilities - the range of prices is incredibly wide. Today, the most popular options for raw materials for the manufacture of interior doors are:

Fiberboard - one of the most common options, which ensured its leading positions due to a decent price-quality ratio. Fiberboard doors are lightweight, easy to install and operate. A wide range of models also affects the popularity of this type of material among Russian buyers. But it is impossible to call doors made of fiberboard durable, even with proper use of the canvas, it will not be possible to pass it on to the next generation.

MDF - canvases made of this material are much more expensive, but also stronger and more durable. MDF doors provide excellent sound and heat insulation. Canvases are suitable for areas with above average humidity.

Solid wood - environmentally friendly, strong, reliable and durable material for the manufacture of doors. But, unfortunately, you will have to pay a lot for high technological and aesthetic qualities. It is also important to consider the absolute environmental friendliness of the material.

Combined canvases. Very often, manufacturers create door leaves as follows - the basis is an inexpensive and light wood species (for example, pine), and on top it is sheathed with veneer from more expensive and noble species. Due to such a combination, it is possible not only to reduce the weight of the canvas, while maintaining high aesthetic qualities, but also to reduce the cost of the final product.

Color solution and design for the interior canvas

So, you have decided on the exact dimensions of the door leaves, having previously produced the required dimensions, correlated your financial capabilities with the assortment of stores, choosing a certain material of execution - it remains only to choose the design of the interior doors. And at this moment you are faced with a real dilemma, because the range of modern stores is incredibly wide, not to mention the possibilities of creating individual design door leaves.

The choice of color for the execution of interior doors is not an idle question, because we install the canvases not for 1-2 years, but for decades (if everything goes well and the doors are used correctly). Obviously, everyone would like to have a harmonious environment in their own home, which will not get bored long years, will be relevant, modern, but not intrusive. You can start from one simple solution - will your interior doors be accent elements (stand out against the general background) or merge with color palette interior?

White is a universal option

If the rooms in your apartment or private house are of medium or even small size, if the walls have a simple, unobtrusive finish, and the whole interior is designed in a modern style, then white doors are the best option. Designers often recommend choosing door leaves as a versatile option. White color will not “point out” at the small dimensions of the space, will act as an ideal background for other interior items, will not focus on possible architectural flaws.

Light shades in the execution of door leaves are often used to combine with the facades of built-in wardrobes. This technique is effective for any premises, but is most often used in the bedroom (dressing room facades) and hallway.

A white door can also act as a contrasting element of the interior, if it is located against the background of a dark or bright wall. At the same time, not only the door leaf, but also the so-called platbands, moldings (ceiling and floor) are most often executed with snow-white.

Dark accent in the interior - interior doors

The creation of contrasting combinations is a condition for many stylistic trends in interior design. Dark door leaves help to bring clarity and constructiveness to the image of the room, create some drama, but at the same time emphasize the shapes and lines of space. Doors in wenge color look rich, representative, creating a special atmosphere of success for the interior itself, and therefore its owners.

One of the options for creating a harmonious, but at the same time contrasting interior is a combination of a dark door shade with a similar solution for the facades of storage systems and other cabinet furniture against the background of light finishes.

Bright color scheme for the door leaf

Bright color scheme interior doors are a great way to add accent to your living space. One of the options for the execution of door leaves in a yak color is a combination with the dominant element of the interior item (for example, a bed in the bedroom or upholstery of a large sofa in the living room). But this task is not easy - it is necessary to clearly match the tone. The easiest way is to create a single accent in the image of the room by bright color door leaf.

Original design or how to make an interior door a highlight of the interior

If standard door leaves in neutral colors are not your option, then you can safely rely on original design door leaf. Interior doors take up a lot of space in any interior, so the originality of the performance will not go unnoticed. In fact, there are no restrictions in choosing the design of interior doors - everything is decided by your imagination and financial capabilities. But designers recommend listening to some of the recommendations for those who have all interior doors in one common room (corridor or hallway):

  • all doors should have the same height (while they can be of different widths, usually the canvases for the bathroom and kitchen are smaller than standard products);
  • doors can be made of different materials, but they must have the same design to maintain harmony in the interior of the common room (while from the side of the room, the door leaf can have a different design and color scheme).

Any decorative elements allow not only to make the design of the door leaf more interesting, but also to connect it with other interior items. For example, any glass inserts make the structure visually lighter and more transparent. Not to mention the fact that glass inserts allow some of the light to pass into other rooms. For ancillary spaces such as an entrance hall and corridors (in most standard apartments they do not have their own sources of natural light), this aspect is important.

Transparent glass inserts will allow the maximum possible amount of sunlight to pass between isolated rooms, often inserts are located from the bottom of the canvas, but this design is best avoided in houses and apartments with small children and active pets). If you need to preserve the privacy of the insulated room, but at the same time leave the possibility of penetration of part of the light fluxes, then use frosted or corrugated glass.

The originality of the door leaf design can be achieved using an unusual shape. Obviously, most doors are rectangles with a fairly standard set of length and width combinations. But it is enough to replace the upper part of the door leaf with an arched vault and the product becomes original, bringing some mystery and elegance to the interior of the room.

A door leaf decorated with wood carvings can in itself become the main decoration of the interior, its highlight. Certainly handmade - pleasure is not cheap. But the incredible, luxurious appearance of the doors, their exclusivity, are able to give a special charm to even the most ordinary interior. Not to mention that wood carving is an excellent design technique for demonstrating the commitment of an interior to a particular stylistic direction in the design of living spaces.

Choosing interior doors is not as easy as it might seem. What material and what type of construction to choose, and how to correctly fit the door into the design of the room - read our detailed article. Selection best photos attached.

Interior doors, of course, are an extremely important design element of any room and apartment as a whole. After all, it is the doors that connect the two spaces that should be in harmony with both rooms, regardless of whether they are made in the same general style or are inspired by completely different ideas.

So, when in the process of renovation you are faced with the question of choosing interior doors, you should pay attention to a few basic rules.

  1. Naturally, ideal option the doors will be made of natural materials. We will never tire of repeating that good material - this is not only an aesthetic choice, but also the basis for the longevity of a particular design element, and this indicator can more than recoup the costs. In the matter of choosing interior doors the best choice - doors made of solid wood or natural veneer.
  2. High-quality coverage is another point that you should pay close attention to. It is a high-quality coating that will help extend the service life of the door without losing its attractive appearance. In addition, a high-quality varnish or laminate is also a matter of health!
  3. Pay attention to the fit of all door elements: there should not be any extra gaps at the joints of individual parts, such as grilles, frames, glass inserts or other materials.
  4. Correct geometry is what matters! Only minor discrepancies of a few millimeters are permissible, otherwise you risk in the future to get certain problems with installation and operation.
  5. Remember that the door frame must be with a seal, and if glass is used in the decoration, then it must be of sufficient quality to withstand all the operational moments with dignity!

Determining the material

Fiberboard

Doors made of fiberboard, or in other words, fiberboard, are a relatively cheap option. Unlike chipboard, which include formaldehyde resins, which eventually emit toxic fumes, fiberboard - more eco-friendly material... It is a slab made of pressed wood dust, wood particles in which are steamed during the manufacture of the slabs, and therefore they speak of production by the wet pressing method.

Do not think that doors are made of fiberboard appearance resemble the back walls of Soviet wall cabinets. In the production of doors, fiberboard is ennobled by pressing with special dyes. In addition, the material goes through the so-called strengthening process, which also positively affects its external and functional qualities.

In general, fiberboard doors are a good economic choice with a number of other advantages: fiberboard doors are moisture-resistant and strong enough to last you a long time.

MDF

MDF is an excellent compromise between product price and quality. Not only is MDF an environmentally friendly material, but, in addition, it has an excellent texture that allows you to make any carved elements from it. So if you want a door with interesting decor, MDF will perfectly cope with such a task.

MDF can be an excellent "filling" for an interior door. In this case, external finishing can be made, for example, from natural veneer. If you are considering more budget options, then you can opt for an imitation veneer finish or lamination.

In addition to the advantages associated with possible design delights in the performance of the door leaf, MDF has other advantages, including:

  • moisture resistance;
  • durability;
  • practicality;
  • resistance to deformation.

Solid wood

If you want the doors in your apartment to look expensive and noble, to serve you for a long time, and at the same time you are ready to pay the appropriate price for this, your choice is solid wood interior doors.

A wonderful natural material, wood, has a number of advantages:

  • the strength of the door structure;
  • excellent adhesion to finishing materials;
  • reliability of fasteners;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • high quality;
  • wealth of design options.

But this material, unfortunately, is not without its drawbacks:

  • each door made of solid wood is in a certain sense universal, since the wood pattern is unique;
  • low resistance to temperature extremes and moisture (high-quality coating and proper care are required);
  • large weight of the structure, which requires the use of extremely reliable and sturdy fittings.

Most often, during serial production, the surface of solid wood doors is covered with thin sheets of natural veneer - to improve moisture and heat resistance and increase the service life. With this task veneered wooden doors are doing great!

Glass

Many modern stylessuch as hi-tech or minimalism, do not like such natural materials like wood or artificial imitation of wood canvases. The futurism of such styles dictates the choice of completely different materials - metal, plastic, glass.

And if metal doors - not the best choice for dividing rooms, then glass ones, on the contrary, do not look pretentious and somewhat simplify and facilitate. The matte surface makes them easy to fit into any room and use, including, and as a door for and.

In addition, the possibilities of decorating glass canvases are multifaceted! The combination of frosted glass with ordinary, stained-glass windows, sandblasting drawings - all this will help you choose a truly unique door for a unique interior!

Choosing the design of the interior door

Exist a large number of options for interior doors, among which are classic swing, and more interesting designs - sliding or folding. For more details, see below.

Swing doors

Swing doors are the simplest and most familiar type of doors. The structure of such a door consists of a door leaf and a frame. But even these simplest doors currently boast a variety of options.

A similar design and type of opening is currently used everywhere: both as interior doors and as entrance doors.

Sliding doors

Such a currently popular type of door design as sliding doors came to us from Asia, where they have been used since ancient times. Their main advantage is ergonomics.

The design, however, is a door leaf, which is attached to a guide with rollers installed inside a bar attached to the wall. The rollers are attached to the top of the door with a special bracket.

Sliding doors able to fit into the smallest room, allowing you not to save precious meters.

We highlight the main advantages of the sliding type of opening:

  • space saving, which allows not to waste space in an irrational way;
  • construction safety;
  • stylish and fashionable design.

The main disadvantages include low sound and heat insulation, as well as a higher cost in comparison with classic sliding doors.

One way or another, sliding doors are a stylish and modern version of interior doors. We invite you to familiarize yourself with interesting examples in our photo gallery:

Sliding doors

Sliding doors belong to the subgroup of sliding doors, but they are somewhat different in design from the classical type, and therefore we have identified as an independent group.

The design of such doors is akin to classic doors. But, of course, interior sliding doors differ from cabinet doors in weight and strength. In addition, do not forget about the presence of a handle and a lock.

Sliding doors are more ergonomic than classic sliding doors due to the fact that the sliding doors not only move to the side when opened, but also overlap each other.

Sliding doors

Another interesting view sliding doors are protruding doors with a sliding mechanism. Such designs are perhaps the most ergonomic option possible, because the sliding of the door being opened does not occur along the wall, but inside it!

The wall in this case is made of drywall, and requires partial redevelopment for mounting a U-shaped groove in the wall. The groove is best made of metal.

When installing a sliding door, do not forget about the correct position of the handle!

Such a door looks very interesting in the interior of any room and has useful property tightness compared to a conventional sliding door.

Roto doors

Roto doors are a kind of compromise between a swing door and a sliding door. The peculiarity of the roto-door is that in the process of opening the door leaf slightly unfolds and in open position becomes perpendicular to the doorway.

This type of opening allows open door take up less space and like the design of the sliding door serves to save space in a small room or.

Roto-doors have such advantages as sound insulation and tightness, and are an excellent solution for the bedroom!

Folding doors (accordion doors)

Interesting design solution we imagine the design of folding doors.

An accordion door can perfectly fit into the interior of a living room or bedroom, as well as become an excellent option in terms of space zoning (for example, separating the bedroom from the dressing room).

Wood or plastic are often used as material in the manufacture of accordion doors, but other options are possible.

The design of the folding door is a combination of several elements using movable hinges, and one of the ends of such a door is equipped with rollers moving along the guide, as in the case of the classic sliding door.

Nuances of choice and design tricks

A single style or a riot of variety?

When choosing interior doors to an apartment, we are faced not only with the choice of material and type of opening, but also with the choice of style, which, as is often the case, must "combine the incongruous." What is it about? We will tell in more detail.

If you are doing repairs in a separate room and want to change the door along with the interior design, you have the task: how to choose a door that would simultaneously fit into the new bedroom or living room interior and fit into the corridor? However, this question also haunts those who create a design project for the future apartment.

After all, it often happens that on one living space in different rooms get along perfectly different styles! A bedroom in the style of delicate Provence, a living room in the Art Nouveau style with its natural motives, a laconic kitchen in the style of minimalism and a retro hallway - and each room has its own requirements not only for furniture and interior designbut also to the door!

Of course, if you plan to choose a single style for decorating an apartment, then you won't have to puzzle over how to fit the door into two interiors at the same time. If you decide not to go the easy way, we can advise you to make interior doors to order - so you can arrange them on the one hand to match the design of the hallway, and on the inside - choose a decoration option that is more suitable for the chosen style of the room.

You can also choose doors in neutral colors and neutral designs, which will allow you to fit them into any interior of your choice without any questions!

High interior doors

We are used to standard doorways, on average, not reaching the ceiling 30-50 cm (depending on the height of your ceilings). However, designers are increasingly offering us interesting concepts with the use of high doors in the interior - literally from the floor to the ceiling! What are the advantages of such designs, in addition to an unusual design solution?

  • High doors can visually enlarge the space of a small room and "raise" the ceilings.
  • A wealth of choice of style solutions and shades can easily emphasize the individuality of your design.
  • The originality of the appearance does not even need comment. Such doors are unusual period.

Self-installation of interior doors

Installing interior doors with your own hands is not the easiest process, which, however, allows you to save a lot during the repair process.

Of course, the nuances of assembly and installation directly depend on the type of design you choose and a universal algorithm suitable for any case cannot be identified.

We have tried to collect for you video tutorials on installing interior doors different typesso that this process will give you as little trouble as possible! So, we suggest watching the video:

The unusual appearance of the door to the ceiling suggests its special design. They are mounted with special hidden hinges that cannot be seen when the product is in the closed position. Installation of a high door is carried out without the use of platbands. The ceiling-length structure is installed in a box made of aluminum.

Varieties

Tall items are sold in a wide variety of variations, among which are:

  • glazed (window effect);
  • veneered;
  • deaf;
  • made of solid wood.

The most expensive are high doors made from solid wood. The raw materials used for the manufacture of the structure lend themselves to thorough drying, with a duration of several years. A model made from solid wood, few afford. However, this is not a reason to refuse innovative products, because many companies are ready to offer consumers doors made of glued solid wood. The designs have their undeniable advantages, among which are:

  • resistance to fluctuations in humidity conditions in the room;
  • resistance to deformation;
  • maintaining the integrity of the product throughout the entire life cycle.

Glazed high doors look particularly stylish and elegant. They are widely used in the interior not only of residential premises, but also in offices, hotels, restaurants and other places that are considered public. However, glass models that are installed in houses and apartments have special requirements. Structures should be as durable and environmentally friendly as possible. The photo shows the most attractive models of glass high doors.

Veneered constructions are made of pine, which is soft and flexible. To give the product strength, manufacturers cover it with oak veneer and a thick layer of varnish. Calvados, walnut and macore veneers can also be used.

Deaf high doors are smooth and paneled. The former are made from synthetic materials that allow you to achieve a huge variety of colors and textures. The finish can imitate different breeds wood and stone. Smooth canvas is often used for minimalist interiors. Paneled doors are rightfully considered the most attractive. Their popular models are depicted in the photo.

Advantages and disadvantages

If we evaluate the number of positive reviews about high doors, then we can no doubt talk about their advantages. Among those, we can distinguish:

  • visual increase in the area and height of the room;
  • wide choice of styles and shades;
  • resistance to deformation;
  • original appearance;
  • high quality raw materials used for the manufacture of door structures.

The only drawback of ceiling models is their high cost. However, the high cost is justified by durability and excellent appearance. The video shows examples of the interiors of residential premises in which such doors were installed.

When purchasing high doors, it is necessary to give preference to manufacturers with an impeccable reputation. In this case, the buyer will be sure of the quality of the goods.
